Dr. Vasil Velevski

OB-GYN, Laparoscopic Surgeon & Neuropelveologist, Bulgaria

Dr. Vasil Velevski is an obstetrician-gynaecologist with more than 30 years of clinical experience and a long-standing focus on endometriosis, laparoscopic surgery and pelvic nerve disorders. He works at the Endometriosis and Neuropelveology Centre at AG Centre Europe in Plovdiv and is also Head of the Department of Gynaecology at Medical Complex Beroe.

His surgical background includes more than 25 years of experience in laparoscopic gynaecological and oncogynaecological procedures, with additional specialist training in France, Italy, Belgium and India.

In 2022, Dr. Velevski completed advanced training in neuropelveology, including the International School of Neuropelveology Level 2 programme led by Prof. Marc Possover. The field focuses on disorders affecting the nerves of the pelvis — an area of particular relevance in patients with persistent pelvic pain, altered bladder or bowel function, sensory symptoms and complex forms of endometriosis.

His work in endometriosis increasingly centres on recognising when pain may have a neuropathic component and on understanding how pelvic nerves can be affected by disease itself or during complex pelvic surgery. He has previously lectured specifically on neuropelveology and pain in endometriosis, bringing this still relatively unfamiliar field closer to patients and clinicians in Bulgaria.

At the Summit, Dr. Velevski will speak on “Endometriosis and Pelvic Nerve Involvement: A Neuropelveological Approach to Diagnosis and Treatment.”
